Article on Drugs & Religion for my university paper

Hey everyone,

I've been away from the shroomery for awhile, but I've recently come into a full page spread in my university newspaper with the topic of Drugs & Religion. I of course thought of the shroomery and wanted to hear what the community had to say
(yes i am using you for brainstorming, but only because i know how knowledgeable everyone on here is!)
Anyway, if anyone has anything they'd like to say, I'd love to hear all kinds of random comments.

There's nothing more cliche than reading a college newspaper article on drugs and (Insert topic here)

That said, I really hate my university newspaper

have you seen that zeistguist video? that would make for an interesting "relgion" aspect to your paper, should give you something to work with at least.

as for drugs well maybe talk about how drugs aren't bad, people are, And what the country does to those who take them.

oh well, i'm not the one who chose the topic, it was the editors, and i'm not about to turn down the opportunity to do a good job on the topic since i almost feel a duty to let people know about the spiritual/mystical/enlightening side of psychedelics and how religion and drugs have pretty much always been connected
i'd love to be at the school where such a topic is cliche though (i guess war, tuition problems, sex, concert reviews are all cliche too? why bother write on anything at all?!)... everyone's too afraid to admit they've tripped for the sake of their 'future career'.

Thank you for blowing that WAY out of proportion

I go to CSU Long Beach and quite literally EVERY writer here feels a need to drop a reference concerning pot or alcohol or whatever else in EVERY article

Drugs have had a major influence on religion, I wasn't disagreeing with that ( actually, I sort of hate them for that)
