fruiting chamber -lighting & temperature-

What would be ideals settings for a fruiting chamber temperature and lighting wise?
I have two seperate fruiting chambers, both humidified with perlite humidification tek. Each chamber contains 1/2 cake, rolled & dunked. The temperature of the room sits between 68F-70F. Is this too cold to induce pinning?

If you can get your room up to about 75F, they'll grow a bit faster, but will still fruit at your temperature.
Use bright fluorescent lighting on a 12/12 schedule. In fact, there will be a slight increase in temperature as the light shines through the fruiting chamber. RR

I hear that 76f is ideal, I also hear it's not that big of a deal. I use a two tier T12 fluorescent light on a timer for my lighting, but indirect sunlight is fine.

awright for the temp, i'll fix it. What if I use L.E.D. lights for lighting the chamber? it has lots of blues rays in it n does a good lighting job.

You need blue spectrum light not blue light (literally)get a light that is in the 6,000-7,000 range from home depot or lowes.

No were not talking about the actual colour, were talking about the temperature of the light, in the range of 6000-7000 kelvin range.
You can get an energy saving bulb thats around 6500K and is great for small FC, more commenly known as compact Fluerescent. I
If your not sure of the color temp, if it has a bluish tint to it, then ur in the right range. Dont mistake the actuall colour blue.

Phish_Due, I heard somewhere that a string of white christmas lights or white rope lights may work very well if suspended atop or above the FC. Can't remember who told me this information, but I am SURE it works, and sealed rope lights can be placed inside an opaque FC for a more inconspicuous setup. (I would put christmas lights outside, for safety, instead of inside high RH environment) Hmm, I wonder where I saw this work?

I have a clear tub with a dark lid, there will be light coming through the sides and it will be in a lighted room. Will this be enough light or should I set up a light inside the terrarium?

Thats horrible advice thats some of the crapiest lighting you can provide for your mushrooms you wont stimulate a very good pinset with that source of light.

What type of lamp? What's the color temperature? Wattage and length tell very little. The best lighting sources have been posted here repeatedly over the last few years, including this thread. RR

Hi people! I've birthed my cake 48H ago and mycelium has started to grow again from the cake. Is this normal developpement? will there be primordia coming out of there or is it just that my light/temp/humidity balance isint right? I use indirect sunlight for the time beeing, the temp is 76F and my humidity must be around 95%....

Yes this is normal, mycelium will continue to grow, cakes might get a little fuzzy too.
If u have rolled ur cake in verm after dunking then myc wills tart to grow threw the verm.
Everything seems fine, give plenty of FAE, mist and the 12/12 light cycle.
Once pins form stop misting.
