what type of spores do cloned strain fruits produce?
    #7485780 -

I would like to know, what type of fruits will the spores of a cloned mushroom produce?

Situation: imagine cloning your largest fruit by placing a piece of the fruit in a liquid culture then spawning/fruiting this "clone liquid culture". your spawn should produce fruits that are the same as the fruit you originally introduced to the liquid culture, at least this is what I understand. my question is, are the spores these cloned fruits produce going to be any different from a "classic multispore inoculated spawn" fruit's spores?

that was very difficult to write, I hope it makes sense!

peace

i believe that multi spore inoculation is multi spore inoculation. even if its a cloned fruit, when two monokaryotic spores join to make a fruiting dikaryotic, it is like having a baby. the two parents genes get mixed up. ms inoc is a dice roll.

one of these was an LC
Which do you think it was?

there will be certain things encoded into the genetics from the spore from a clone however.

interesting question whether all clones have the same spores. but it would be nearly impossible to find the identical spores on seperate clones and mate them. if its ms inoc, its random. the same spores will not join in all of the clones prints once inoculated. the probability would be 10 to the 8th power to one. thats a lot of casings.

interesting, thanks for the input. we've determined the prints form the cloned fruits will all be different, but will they still be stable? I am now asking, are prints from cloned fruits as good as prints from multispore inoculated spawn fruits?

Well, it would be as similar as you are to your parents, except your parents are brother and sister, know what I mean?

The spore will germinate, send out myc to find compatible myc, with which it then mates, and their genetic code becomes one.

A clone of a clone will be more likely to resemble it's master, but a spore from a clone will have no choice but to be similar, but cannot be identical by the laws of genetics.

Multispore really takes the same shape, genetically, it's just that the mating pair are more distantly related.

All strains are the same species, just genetic offspring, like Darwin's finches.

My foaf once succeeded where few have merely by injecting spores from 2 different strains with favorable characteristics.

On one occasion he did in fact fruit some hybrids, by sure luck, as the odds are very much against it, and having tried it for over 9 months.

A print from a clone will indeed be "stable." In my experience, spores from a "natural" fruit are in no way different from those of a clone. It's kind of like hitting the reset button on the genetics.

This topic has interested me as well. I am not quite sure I get the hitting the reset button the genetics analogy. What are we resetting back to? Traits of the clone or traits of the original strain used? Obviously traits are passed on by spores as I can get a Hawaiian print and have it look like Hawaiians.

I'm not even going to attempt to explain myself in an attempt not to spread misinformation.

Sorry for the ambiguous analogy
