The Cubs
    #7492355 - 10/06/07 07:14 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

This is embarrassing. They should have given the division to the Brewers. Four double plays, no offense, no pitching. What did you expect? Its the Cubs. See ya Cubbies. I was going for them too.
Two expansion teams in the NLCS methinks.

I refuse to speak on this topic for several months.

I'm not even watching any more baseball.

Hahahaha, I've been waiting for this. Didn't want to say anything until it was a sure thing. I did not think that it would be so soon. What a fucking disgrace. Some offense that those Cubbies have. 99 years and counting.

At least Chicago has one team that knows how to perform when they get in the playoffs.

I was in Denver all week, and a GREAT week it was BTW  I was confronted with the reality that I had already told everyone about the fact that since I grew up in the Rockies and will be moving to Denver Metro sooner than later,  and had made the jump from the Black Hawks and Bears to the Aves and (gulp!) Broncos, that as soon as this season was over with, I would be shifting my alliances to the Nuggets and Rockies. Wow, what a run on sentence.

Anywhoo, I NEVER really thought the Rockies would get in the playoffs (yeah, yeah I heard it all week from the 10 million people on Denver radio that just KNEW it was going to happen) so I never saw it as an issue.

But the bottom line is... If it had gotten down to the Rocks and The Cubs, with the Cubs already halfway to, and poised to become The Yankees of the Midwest, I would have rooted for Colorado.

The issues. The Rockies management has been CRAP for years. Will they sign their guys? Will revenues be where they need to be to keep the crew together? Their newfound success will have to effect them somehow.

And the Cubs. Nobody could have seen this coming. Their pitching was too good, and pitching is what is supposed to win it for you in the playoffs, just like running in the NFL. So whatever anyone wants to say, the Cubs were, are, and will be a force to be reckoned with from here until they win the series (and they will soon) and the world quickly thereafter ends.

Enjoy the rest y'all.

They do have a solid rotation but they didn't perform under pressure.

The Cubs win the World Series in 2012, the Mayans said so!

The 2007 Cubs could just not hit...it was pathetic.

I feel pretty bad for the Cubs. I would have liked to see them win.

A-Rod back at SS and Cuban (or whomever in '08) in the red white and blue.

I understand not hitting Webb, especially the way he was on at home, but the rest of those guys? I felt like guys at the beginning of"Major League" when they're all asking, "Who the f*ck are these guys"? What's Soriano's BA for the post season at now? I heard it was .175 coming in or something like like, must be .015 or so now. :foreheadslap:

What will be truly pathetic is if the front office of the Rockies manages somehow to screw this team up.

The Cubs win it NEXT year on their "100 years from worst to first" platform.

From 62 wins to the playoffs, no matter how bad, is still a GREAT year.

It was a LOT of fun.... One more for the North Siders... :minigun:

I totally agree. Shit, my fucking grandmother could get a hit off of Doug Davis.

Doug Davis has always been a Cub killer.

When he was with the Brewers we couldn't hit him either.

Just one of those guys...

Crazy stuff. I was unaware of that. That's one reason I love baseball so much, a lot of situations that defy logic.

It's hard to flip-flop my childhood teams with my "home teams" a bit, especially the year before the Cubs win it. I honestly believe it. This team, with a little more help, the playoff experience, and Lou guiding the way, they will be TOUGH next year.

We just need another arm to go with A-Rod.
