MLB Audio

Well yesterday I really wanted to listen to the Yankee game and our radio is somewhat busted (and we don't have cable) so I caved and ordered the MLB Audio package. It's the whole season, and you can listen to either the Home or Away team broadcast - that's pretty cool. I've been wanting to hear certain broadcasters, I hear the Cubs have a great team in the booth.
Now I can listen to day games while I plug away names and numbers at work. Weeeeeeeeee.

I bet you cant get get through a whole game of listenting to the cubs broadcasters on WGN. Part of the team, Pat Hughes, is the SHIT. Smartest baseball guy I've ever heard. But the other half, Ron Santo? HORRIBLE. He's like, 80, and he's had both his legs amputated, so his voice is really weak. He seriously sounds like an 18 year old girl.
The good thing is, he loves the cubs SO much. You can hear the anguish in his voice when they lose, or the other team scores. I've heard him almost start to cry SO many times. People say he was honestly close to suicide after the cubs lost in 03.

Yeah. Any game that's on, home team or away. It's really pretty cool. I just switched over to Kansas City's side of this game...not as good.

totally agree. pat is amazing. one of the best broadcasters I've ever heard. santo is, well, santo - doesnt offer much analysis or commentary other than half-completed jokes, grunting, and cheering. he's more like a fan with a mic. but still hughes makes up for where ron leaves off. santo definitely has the cubs in his blood - he'd be more fun to kick back and have a beer with while watching a game.

it took me way less time than I expected to get used to the sight of him in a Yankee uniform.
