Job Interview on Friday!!

So i just got laid off from my apprenticeship... the trades going down the can anyways, but I have a job interview Friday morning for a seemingly slack job.

I will be driving a UHaul type thing, with a helper, and we go around pickin up appliances ranging from a microwave to a washer at the biggest. Pretty much 70% of the shit we pick up my helper would be able to lift by himself and thatd be his work. So we would cruise all day and just pick up whatevers out there, getting paid very well. I would be makin 13 bux per appliance, which doesnt sound like much until you consider id have to pick up 2-3 appliances an hour to clear a g after tax..

Plus fuck, ill get paid to drive around all day

How do you get laid off from an apprenticeship? Just asking. Also congrats on what appears to be a fat job.

I am still in an apprenticeship technically just no companys are hiring toolmakers apprentices at the moment.

Our bosses are seriously fucked up planners. Told a customer that our mould would be ready to ship a month before it was a reasonable time. We worked 60+ hour weeks for everyone and it was jus impossible. We lost a lot of work going after that contract, and then we lost that contract.

So yea, now im a driver hopefully.

That sounds about right, Im a carpenter and I just got laid off because our superintendent is a total fuck wad who bid a job 50K over the nearest bid so we didnt get the job and I got laid off. Im considering working at a fucking gas station until next spring and then calling the hall. Fuck it, at least Ill be warm is my predominate thought.

Yea, unfortunatly i dont have a hall or a union or anything. Its feast or famine. and now with the emerging economies of china and india, and canadas soaring dollar, ALOT of trades in canada are in a big hurt.

good luck on your interview Yarry, I have a big one coming up for the IT department of a big insurance company on tuesday. I really hope i get this job, or maybe i should call it a career, as it will be my first job requiring my degree i get in december...

Kinda like being a waiter, 10 bucks - 15 bucks a table, 2-3 an hour for 6 hours.  But being a waiter sucks cuz you have to deal with bullshit. :crankey:
