Getting tried of the personality structure. (for old timers only)
    #7423943 - 09/18/07 02:13 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

Over many years of self imposed suffering this can begin to take hold. Then the challenge really begins. Can one drop morbid attachment to the personality structure and let go of enough self-importance to actually create a change in how one experiences life? Anyone here over 30 who has experience with this?

I'm 32, but haven't thought of myself as an Old Timer, I guess around here I am.

You've read R.A.W. right?

By following his instructions, I've kept relatively suffering free and have the outlook (not intelligence) of a 12 year old...

Does posting bodily function icons as an argument indicate a mature peronality? Seems very grade school to me.

I think you just like saying morbid attachment.

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I am 'over it'. However, is this the place to argue philsophy or to petulanty display over-reactive emotions whenever the mood strikes?

Doesn't look like you're "over it". Start your own thread.

Icelander's head is 'morbidly attached' to his body.

32 or 52, should there be a difference psychologically speaking?

Understanding yourself and staying balanced is more important than editing a post.

Choosing to see people as enemies when that is not the case is indicative of a misaligned filter. Recalibrate to engineering specs.
