another liquid growth question

I posted similiar question before but didn't get a clear answer, so I'm going to explain the situation as best I can and hope one you mushroom wizards can answer it.
I have 2 honey water jars, one of the jars I had either too little or too much honey because I added a 2nd teaspoon to one of the pint jars. Now one of the jars has very healthy, cloudy-looking mycelium floating in it. It is pure white and looks great. The other jar the mycelium(or what I think is mycelium) is all at the bottom and it has an yellowish tint to it. It isn't cloudy and puffy like the first jar, so I may think it is contaminated. Should I just throw this jar out or is it fine? I don't have a camera at the moment or else I would take a picture.

I'd say toss it. The mycellium should be wispy and white. If need be you could make up a new jar, and inject some of the good mycellium from the first jar to it and have it continue growing there.

Usually a contaminated jur will shoe the contams floating on the surface of the water. The poor growth in your one jar could be due to too much sugar content.
The only way to check for sure if it will work is to due a test jar or agar plate.

Yes I was thinking that I didn't dissolve the honey good enough when I put the 2nd teaspoon into the one jar. Also, I stupidly rushed through so I didn't put the jar in the microwave after putting in 2nd teaspoon. I guess I will keep it and innoculate a jar and isolate it from the others just in case it is contaminated.
