Room temp is fine, but warmer is better, up to about 85 degrees. They will reach a point where it's obvious the honey/water isn't going to colonize any further... when that happens (for me around day 9), or when you think there's enough (it doesn't take big chunks of mycelium to innoculate), *then* put the jar in the refrigerator to slow down contams. There's a lot of bacteria in a refrigerator though... I put my jar inside of two ziplocs before putting them in there.

question for you honey guys:
what formula do you use and how do you sterilize the liquid?
also, where did you find the info to begin with?
I'm a new grower and looking for convenient/inexpensive growth mediums -- i always have honey and am interested in liquid myc growth.

I believe the recipe is 250ml of water to 1 teaspoon of water, autoclaved at 15psi for 30 mins. Or you could boil your jars for an hours. I like to use Light Malt Extract at 3 teaspoons / Cup of water, and then microwaving the solution for 10mins...

If you go under the Grow/Find section and look for Mycelium Culturing (I believe) you can find lots of info. The more recent honey/liquid information can be found on the message boards here.
