Can a 1/2cc. of spores really turn into a substancial amt. of mycelium in just a couple days?

Yes.....well depends from the strain but 2/3 days it's the right time needed.....

Thanks CLuBB99. I just wanted to be sure. Another issue that isn't adressed much on the shroomery is once that you have a colonized mycelia solution, what is a good innoculation amount per jar of substrate? I'm using quart jars.

I just squirt some liquid...about .5 cc per hole, also a bit less if the mycelium water is very clouded.....

Hey All:

I use about 3cc of mycelium inoculum per 1 quart jar. Then the jars take about 6 days to fully colonize sterilized rye grain at 86 degrees. I use so little because using much more results in excess water in the bottom of the jar.

As far as how long I have seen it take for mycelium to be indicated on my liquid malt base...typically 3 to 4 days if from spores and 2 to 3 days if from clone tissue.
