Liquid growth medium
    #509519 - 01/03/02 09:58 PM (22 years, 8 months ago)

I am a little confused, Does the liquid medium method eliminate the use of the jars. Or just speed up there colonization. If eliminated do you put the solution directly on medium in a fruiting tray ????? Please help. THANKS

What do you propose to put the liquid medium in?

Wow thats good! Alright we still need the jar(s). But what I meant is do you still have to inoculate substrate in a jar and wait for colonization? Then fruit? Or can you go from liquid to substrate in fruiting tray? In the article it doesnt explain it very well. It says when you want a culture fill a syringe and inoculate the substrate, Growth starts right away? In a fruiting tray or what?? Still confused?? Please help again........ BUD

I think all it does is skip the germination process. so it's like spore solution.. but faster, since it's already mycelium..

If I understand how the liquid growth tek works. Then I assume that after the mycelium has taken over the liquid then you mix it into some casing mix and start the fruiting process. Least that is what I think. Assuming makes an Ass out of you and me!

I'm with Brugman on this one... I use the Honey TEK to innoculate all of my jars. I'm not sure, but trying to innoculate a casing with the mycellium found in honey water, would probably result in contamination since the mycellium isn't strong enough to fight off the contams... I could be wrong....Maybe I wasn't paying attention...What was the question???

To put it simply, you can create mycelium water in jars, suck that water up in a syringe, and innoculate sterilized jars filled with substrate with the mycelium water.
