stopping pharmaceutical use?

i'm prerscribed on klonopin for anxiety, as well as remeron (more for the sleep problems). and my friend was telling me how addictive klonpin is. and i've read bad things about withdrawals and to 'get off it when you still can!' and i've been out of remeron for a few days and feel like complete shit, so i tried to see if this was withdrawal symptoms or just a shit feeling day. and i saw this 'cognitive therapy works wonders - there is a great book out called "Don't Panic" by R. Reid Wilson - it's changed my thinking and erased my panic and anxiety. don't believe most docs, who are in the back pockets of the pharmaceutical companies anyway, when they push drugs on you...i learned my lesson but almost lost my mind in the process of stopping remeron.'
and really think i should tell my psychiatrist (i see him wednesday) that i don't want any of this anymore. but i'm afraid if i stop i'll hate it like that and want to go back on meds.
it's a back and forth thing, and it always has been. but i've been on ssri's and won't go on those again.
but shit.
meh. i can't tell if being high is making me think way too much or if i'd be thinking like this sober right now.

i don't know.
i forgot that smoking pot alone isn't the same anymore when the only time i smoke is with a friend anymore.

You can either quit cold turkey or slowly ween yourself off of it.
I suggest the second option.

I have pretty bad anxiety...and it's getting worse lately. I use to use pharmaceuticals for it, when I had medical insurance. I thought getting off those might be better for me anyways...although sometimes I wish I had one when things get really bad. Right now I'm trying out herbs like Valerian and Skullcap. They are pretty mild. Usually put me to sleep, which is fine with me.
Anyways, I think maybe you should something else. There are alternatives out there. And thanks for the recommendation on the book. I'll have to check it out.

yes. the alternatives sound much more safer than kpin especially.
something i have to wean myself off of, i unfortunately already felt what it was like to have withdrawals from them when i ran out and thought i'd be fine for a few days.
