English Paper Topic

I have to come up with a topic for a semester long paper (7-8 pages) by next week. I was thinking the "war on drugs" or something drug/pharmaceutical related. Anyone got good ideas?

if i single out a specific drug to write about, I might try to be under the influence of that very drug for most of the writing process. That all just depends which drug

If you want to be labeled a druggie by your professors, go for it.

In my opinion, if you feel the need to somehow tie drugs into your paper, you should write about the political aspects of the war on drugs, and make sure to use lots of scientific citation. Don't focus on a particular drug, and make sure you focus on the politics.

i wasn't going to be pro-drugs in this paper. I was probly going to do it on dangers of meth and how its spreading or exactly like you said the political side of the "war on drugs"

are you in somewhat of an intro english class?

if so, I guarantee your professor doesn't want to read about drugs, abortion, war, etc...

if you write something that they receive less often, they will be more likely to give you a better grade

China's one child policy was a good topic for me. I used the topic over and over again in my english classes. I rewrote it but I became knowledgeable in the topic.

yeah the class above the intro class....I guess your right. I was thinking along the lines of drug/pharamacuetical related topics because I know a lot about them and i wouldnt have to do as much research. But i think im going to throw that topic away all together. Thanks a lot.
