In my ENC1102 honors class, we have to write a PERSUASIVE research paper on a topic that can be related to some form of academics (ie. Health, Medicine, Ethics, Psychology, Society, Environment, English, etc. etc.).
Anyway, I, being the drug-nerd I am, am leaning towards either "The Use of Hallucinogens in Beneficial Medical/Psychological Cases" (where I could cite a variety of Tim Leary's notes, like where prison inmates were dosed with psilocybin with positive results, and probably even cite a positive/life-changing trip-report from a user in the forum as a "personal interview citation,") or "The Inevitbale Problem with Opiate/Benzo-Based Pharmaceuticals and Innapropriate Treatments" (here, i could argue about misinformed doctors/patients, and how methadone treatment is potentially prolonging opiate-use, only creating functional junkies, who will be dependant on MMT for like 3 years). I would really like to do the second, but have not been able to find too many scholorly/medical journals that delve into the downside of methadone treatment, rather they boast success rates; iffen anyone knows of any good sources that could help argue my point, ide appreciate it.
So, basically I'm looking for ANY suggestions... got any other good topics? Know any good specific sources for the topics i am thinking about using? Any help would be appreciated.
ALSO..... If anyone by any chance has any SELF-WRITTEN persuasive research papers they'de be willing to PM me, ide appreciate it. If anyone has a self-written persuasive research ppr (with citations and whatnot) that i could use as my own, i would gladly send you a bunch of poppy seeds (papaver somni.) or something like that in exchange .
Thanks for any help!

"The Use of Hallucinogens in Beneficial Medical/Psychological Cases" seems very broad. I think you should narrow it down to maximize persuasion. how about Ibogaine and the treatment of addicts vs legal problems?

I would even go so far as to say pick something that you have direct experience in. Obviously you won't say that you have, but it always help to have first hand knowledge and opinions of a certain subject you're trying to persuade someone on.

Do a persuasive paper titled: "Legalizing drugs".
Sounds like a straightforward, easy assignment. Do it on something you'll enjoy.
