Re: can anyone give me any tips on smart looking clothes that don't look gay [Re: tiny_rabid_birds]

I wear a shirt and tie every day for work so I'm used to dressing nice. I too, prefer shirts that fit snugly and always roll my sleeves.

I like collared polos for "casual friday" and other informal occasions. It is rare for me to wear a suit. Usually I only wear a suit for special occasions (job interviews, presentations, funerals, weddings etc.). I will wear a sport coat and jeans/khaki's though.

I've also taken to wearing the "loose tie" and a cardigan on a night out with friends..

This is a bad picture to use as an example, but keep in mind there are different ways to wear the style. This also appearted in an esquire fashion section, (I realize that means absolutely nothing to most on this site).

All I have to say is, dont be afraid to splurge if your looking for classy clothes. I've found that you get what you pay for and i've gotten way more attention from shirts I paid $90 than any $20 dollar t-shirt. Jeans, pair of K-swiss, Tshirt with a button up (unbuttoned of course). Learn to match color combinations (It helps to take a girl along with you, a hot one cuz the ugly ones have no taste). Otherwise, It never hurts to rock a suit and tie.

while i'm all for looking classy I say FUCK spending too much money on clothes. $90 for a shirt is just stupid. If you pay $90 for a designer tshirt then you're obviously gay and you take it in the butt from guys with huge shlongs.

I'd rahter pay $30 and get custom text in whatever style printed on a shirt.

As you get older you will realise that you should not be influenced by what your friends say you look good in.As you already know, the best dressed men are gay!Business casual is a type of dress that looks good and you can enter ANY establishment feeling not too dressed up or too little dressed up.

I would never pay 90 for a t shirt, I was talking about a button up dress shirt, which 70-100 is a pretty regular price.

button up shirts, maybe some with patterns, but a necklace and a nice black tank top underneath with top buttons umndone always goes down well, woollen jumpers, jeans, leather shoes or just nice black dunlop volleys with white laces (they always go down well, i've worn them since i was 5), jeans that aren't too baggy and aren't too tight, although sometimes the odd pair of baggy jeans/cargo pants doesn't go astray.

black socks when wearing black pants and black shoes. White socks for jeans. No hats, unless it's a bowlers hat with a suit. hat's are out of fashion.

Not those shitty Oakley style sports sunglasses, you want nice shades that look badass.

Either that, or just stick to suits, Stop shopping in skate shops and try like menswear stores or something.

or just get a gay friend haha

And how many hooker hearts are in your freezer today, Mr. Bateman?

- White pocket T's
- normal denim jeans with fit of your choice (no sandblasted or holed-out shit)
- http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/175,19532_.html / at least 1 pair of something similar to these
- A few nice polos (Ralph Lauren, FTW: Chaps/Polo)
- shoes for different occasions (i.e. something more versatile than skater shoes)
- a nice watch could make you appear to know what's going on :ohwell:
