I turned my dad on to smart drugs today!
    #1474568 -

dad: (after 4.5 mg hydergine) "whoa dood everything looks so sharp and colorful"
me: no shit, it's a vasodilator! Don't drink too much wine or you'll get the staggers!
He still drank 3 glasses but he had a huge grin on his face and seemed very relaxed...
him and my mom have been butting heads for awhile, maybe this will help...
you go dad!
<3
oh yeah disclaimer: don't mix hydergine with anything that thins the blood, as it lowers blood pressure....
my bp before a regimine of hydergine and piracetam...
120-122/80
after:
110/65-70
steady

I don't know if it counts as a nootropic but I've tried L-Tyrosine for a few days now, and I really like it.  Makes my brain feel more energized and at times its a bit euphoric (I think....its hard to describe).  I've also been taking choline and dmae (daily) and piracetam  occasionally?but with not much of a perceivable effect.
Hydergine sounds really cool from your story and what I've read.

Have fun being smart

go to www.erowid.org & click on the ummmmm drugs link at the bottom left corner & then the "nootropics" vault...
yr local library may have books with titles like _mind food and smart pills_ & such
or ya could go to www.google.com & type in words...
or even utfse here for past threads about these herbs, vitamins, amino acids, neurotransmitter precursors/modulators/enhancers...

Too subjective to answer
einstein had to have his wife do his math for him I believe
he was a radical!
Smart drugs improve brain function, some are powerful anti oxidants, vasodilators, and some slow down the process of aging in the brain (very key, unless ya wanna have alzheimers or some dimentia related nasties, I don't, I have no clue what runs in my family)
a good diet and a super b complex liquid is a good place to start, always diet first...
