Re: Anyone interested in accurate temp maintaining?

i have a perfect setup that keeps my jars at a stable temp no matter what temp it is in the room. i use a little ceramic heater with a digital thermostat built in. it cost $50 from sears. i put that in a heating tent made w/ pvc and insulation. it can fit a grow chamber and as many jars as you want. the thermostat keeps it at exactly the temp you punch in.

Just a few reasons why that isn't nearly as good. For one, if the thermometer, digital or otherwise is in the unit that provides the heat, the temp will always be off. Secondly, you have no external probe so monitoring different areas is impossible. Also you have no cooling capabilities, and I very seriously doubt it maintains the temp to one degree accuracy. Do you know how often it samples? Also it would not remember any max. or mins. And lastly, my controller will control anything, not just a ceramic heater. Not bad for $50.00 but not great either.
