mycobag fruiting
    #7304793 -

i just mixed around a little bit on the side that is like 20% not myclieum to try to speed it up. I am planning on dunking on the second flush and just making the poor mans terrarium for that. but for the first flush, i am not going to cut open the bag until i am pulling shrooms out to aviod contams since this is my first time. what do i have to do after the cake is complete?

just put in 12 hours indirect light until i see pins?

or do i wait for pins before the 12 hours of light?

clarification please

i htink that yu said you have a myco invitro bag, with about a 20% uncolonized portion. You have just mixed it up to try to ge the other 20% colonized.

You wish to know whether you induce pinning by exposing to light, or whether to wait for invtro pinning to expose, right?

I don't know much about invitro poo bag procedure, you're probably gonna hafta resort to the search feature to find the instructions you need.

yes i am using a mycobag and it is 80% colonized and i shook it to get the rest growing white. i am growing around 73-85 which is a big range so i didn't think the temp would matter for fruiting so can i just initiate pinning with only 12 hours of flourescent light?

have you done your research?

i'm not tryign to be a dick, but there is a lot of info which you seem ot be missing, and most of it is need-to-know

like, the proper incubation temperature is between 82-86 degees f

proper fruiting is recommended between 72-76 degrees f, but that's a flexible boundary.

for all the info you need, the guidlelines you requie, click on the link above and read read read, it has ALL you need to know

ok i have read a lotof stuff andif youi look at my previous posts people actually argue about the correct incubation tempature. i know 86 is the best i have seen tempature graphs. but that link is now my bible its awesome. i guess i am gonna brake the cake up and let it reform

do you mean to break it up and then spawn it to something else? cause thats probly what you wanna do if your gonna break it up at all.

nah, i see what he's saying.

1.) first off ignore anyone coming at you with proper temps at 84-86. Yes, it can be considered optimum, but at the same time it invites in more contams. You can colonize jars at room temp just fine with no noticable, if any, difference in time. Just ask roger rabbit, he's been doing it this way for years and years.

2.) Once your bag has reknitted and colonized to 100% you should introduce the pinning triggers. Unfortunately since you want to leave your bag closed you can't really do a fresh air exchange, you can however drop the temps to the mid 70's and place it in the 12 hr light cycle.

this will tell your mycellium to begin fruiting and soon after you will see some pins and eventually fruits. Also, don't fret about the light too much, you don't have to be exact with 12 hrs on 12 hrs off. My FC's use indirect sunlight from a window and fruit just fine.

almost there man, keep it up!!

just did the mixing step to my good bag. also i was thinking about the tempature, since the mycileum starting growing after i moved them inside my closet instead of outside in a empty fridge i never though to move them back to speed up the process. I think since i mixed I am going to put them back outside in the fridge, its in a open closet in a shady overhang but it does stay around 90 during the day in the south right now, but i think it will be a lot cooler in the fridge in the shade. but I will monitor it. heres some pics of what i had before and after mixing.

90 is way too hot for incubation, fridges are insulated so the temps may be cooler inside, but its best to stick a therm in there during the hottest part of the day and monitor the temps before hand.

i am gonna put them outside sometimes and then in the closet during the day so it will be hotter for longer periods of time and make it grow faster.  Since i shook and masagged the bag though now instead of a brick a piece, like a corner fell off the already formed brick in the shaking.  will the mycileum grow back around that and make it one big thing again?

thanks for dealing with a first timer you guys are so much help

here is some pics.

i took those with a cell phone, there is really a lot more white than you can see with the crap pic.  i am gonna get a digi cam soon

yes, the myc will reknit eventually into a single brick again.  Try not to do this often tho as your colony expends energy to reknit itself and will eventually run out of said energy.  This is why you only need to shake jars or knead bags once or twice.

sweet, i just put my digital thermometer in the friodge to see how hot it is outside in there tonight. i am gonna start putting them in there at night if the temp is low enough. i assume the bags make about 3 degrees on thier own.

its 3:30am and the temp in the fridge is 81 the highest its reached all night is 82. i gthink this will fast track some mycileum growth

ok well i woke up and now it is around 4:00pm my time. the temp was 85.3 inside the refridge so i knew it was too hot. The maximum temp inside the fridge was 85.3 and the min was 75.9 since i put the bag in at 3:00am last night. so i moved the bag back into my dark closet. is moving the bag out into the fridge to get warmth during the night good? i do this because my window a/c unit is on when i sleep at night and it lowers the temp. but its good and warm during the day when i am not here.
