great television series

i do not have cable. so i use the intarwebz! sometimes i'll use websites like tvlinks or video.glath, but i really don't like the poor quality and the fact that i can't sit on my couch while enjoying some shows. so i like to dload full seasons from various torrent sites, and then burn the .avi's to data dvds for use in my livingroom.

that being said, i've got a few series already dloaded. i've burned futurama, the venture bros, home movies, scrubs, house, weeds, sealab and firefly. I was trying to get all seven seasons of buffy because i was a huge fan when i was younger, unfortunately the full 7 season torrent i found got me to 44.7% and hasn't moved in over a month.

what are some great series i should dload? although i love the history channel and the discovery channel when i have regular cable, i'm not so keen on dloading and burning many shows of that nature because they don't tend to follow a linear storyline from episode to episode, and that's what i'm really looking for.

If you dont like Trailer park, go with 6 feet under.

soprano's, the wire, weeds, flight of the conchords, little britain, those are some worthwhile watches imo.

they build the show up with 9 episodes I think only to not explain it fully then cancel it WTF man

a few months back when it was still all the hype i tried getting some planet earth but couldn't find the right thing. there seem to be a lot more files now, but i'm curious, is the planet earth thing the discovery channel ran the same as the planet earth thing done by BBC?

there are tons of videos for it on jewtube but quality sucks
I have the DVDs ... and they rock !

no idea on that, but the planet earth series was amazing, i watched it all on regular tv.  Almost bought the box set but why spend money on something you can get for free :wink:

random- i know right, my dad was saying the same thing about how no one watched it blah blah blah.  Personally i think it was just waaaay above the normal audience that pays attention to HBO series.  The wire and soprano's are great series, but john forced you to think, and to think hard.  Nothing was given to you, everything was cryptic, and the majority of it was subjective.  It was open to go anywhere and that's what i loved about the show.  I have to say i was a bit disappointed in the finale, i thought they could have done more.  However what kept me interested was the fact that you were going to know more next season and that was enough to keep me waiting.  Fuck, guess now ill never know.

People say bring back deadwood, i say fuck that and give me more john.

alright. well i've got season 1 of six feet under started.

i suppose i'll start the dl for the first dvd of planet earth as well. it seems like it'd be cool as hell to toke up a bit and then watch the beauty of the far-off wonders of the world.

nope, its about a girl who dies and comes back to life as a reaper. Basically she gets assigned people to go kill, she goes up to them, touches them, and then they die in some weird accident. There's a little more to it then that but that's the basic plotline. It's like a black comedy/drama series that i didn't pay attention to while it was on the air but now wish i had. It's at least worth downloading a few episodes to see if you like it or not.
