The Wire: the end of the series

Just watched the next to last episode

I was about to snooze halfway through the season.. then watched this episode and DAYUMN.

Best show in the history of TV... EVER.

If anyone hasn't seen it.. i'd recommend watching the first 4.5 seasons in the next week. Trust me, it won't be hard.

Someone mentioned The Wire to me a while back.

The rating over on iMDB is amazing, i am going to need to watch this sometime round :smile:

It has a few slow episodes but even those are better than any crap on tv primetime.

Yea... they come out on HBO on Sunday nights so it won't TECHNICALLY show episode 9 till this coming up Sunday.. but HBO puts them up on their ON DEMAND channel a week early.. so ep9 was out today

And let me tell you.. CRUCIALNESS.... best episode ever.

And remember.,. episode 10 is the last EVER.

Again I will state that "The Wire" is the best show ever. And I haven't seen ANY of the past two seasons (the wife and I are waiting until we can buy all the DVD's and then spend a month or so pigging out)

Isn't season 4 on DVD already?


It just keeps getting better and better every season.

A lotta people talk smack about season two but I thought it was awesome, especially the cinemotography of the last two episodes.

Was season 2 the dock? And yeah, 4's out, but we're waiting for ALL of them so we can just do a straight run through. We haven't seen any since last summer and hopefully within the next few months our youngest will be sleeping through the night so we're not interrupted.

Can't wait.

Just buy/rent season 4.

And if you have digital basica cable.. just do what I did and call your cable company and tell them you "saw this offer for new customers to get hbo for free for three months" and they'll hook u up... then u can watch all of season 5 on demand

i love the wire, been watching the whole series.  Kinda makes me sad that next week is the last episode ever :frown:

Personally i think this is the best season yet, i love the little cameos and tie ins with past characters that pop up.  It's just crazy how many people have gone down this season, no wonder there wont be anymore, there won't be anyone left to write about once this seasons over lol.

The 2 min featurettes on the on demand service are pretty nifty, i think they could do a whole series on just omar if they wanted to.

Oh well, im at the point where i can't wait for next weeks episode but i don't want it to come because i know there will never be another one after it.  If anyone has been slacking on this series and likes crime dramas you need to start renting or watching episodes online.
