Well, I'm a total newbie to this site. I gather the reasons why you kicked John off, and I don't have any problems with it. Your site, your rules, sounds like he was a jerk, etc. I'm not part of this drama.

I do want to say something to those out there who don't know who Mushroom John Allen is. I first heard about John in High Times magazine when I was still in high school. I'm familiar with his books, like Magic Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest (which is even cited in the Wikipedia article about psilocybin mushrooms), Mushroom Pioneers, and others. He has discovered and identified many of the strains which you now propagate - Cambodian, Koh Samui, Orissa,
Ban Hua Thanon, Lipa Yai, Hanoi, etc. If you don't know about Mushroom John Allen, frankly - you don't know shit about shrooms.

What I'm saying is that he had celebrity status and had already contributed much to this community long before shroomery.org had even existed. This is not to defend his actions or his personality. It is just to remind you that it's not an *easy* thing to kick out someone like MJShroomer, any more than it is easy to kick out Prof. Fanaticus (who I believe has been kicked out of a few forums) or Dennis McKenna.

People are going to raise a stink. I would have kicked him out, too - if it were up to me. But there are going to be people who will be very upset for a while, and it is understandable. I want to say that regardless of his behavior here, I still respect what dude has done for shrooming. I think we'll do just fine without him being on this particular website, however.

By the way - it looks like he got kicked off topia, too - and is threatening to sue Hippie3 over some artwork. Maybe he'll focus his legal attentions there and leave us alone.

My two cents - feel free to abuse me and call me a pedo if you want to!

I agree. He threatened legal action and he was permabanned. Banning John was the only reasonable course of action... but,

He only threatened legal action after tolerating years of people calling him a pedophile -with no evidence against him-, and only after the shroomery admins promised to no longer allow the accusations to be posted on the shroomery and subsequently failed to keep their promise.

This is not about John's celebrity status, and it's not about his sometimes caustic personality, this is about justice. An injustice was done against John and he is seeking legal recourse, because earlier attempts to negotiate a solution with the shroomery failed when its admins and moderators reneged on their promise to protect him from unsubstantiated accusations of "raping little kids".

And while some moderators in this thread have indicated the accusations of pedophilia are not allowed, and John's accusers have been banned, this has come about only after the fact, after John flipped out and was permabanned. A little too late.

There were plenty of OTD mods and shroomery admins that watched the mess go down over a period of a few days without stepping in to delete the accusations or ban the accusers.

mj has every reason to be pissed off.

For those who think all drugs carry the same risks and benefits, and that all should be treated equally, all I can say is you have your heads in your collective asses. Some drugs are addictive, some are not. Some have a high therapeutic index and others can kill you if you double a dose. Some can be eaten, and others require punching holes in you body to administer. Some drugs expand consciousness and others dull it. Some drugs kill people and others do not.

I'm not going to pretend that eating mushrooms and shooting heroin are the same just to avoid hurting a junky's feelings. There are too many people suffering from opiate addiction already.

Legal action has been initiated against a group of cowardly liars who have accused an innocent man of a disgusting crime he did not commit. You had nothing to do with it in the beginning and you have nothing to do with it now. If you continue to stir the shit you could also be named in the law suit. Is that clear enough for you. Have I said it loud enough in this public forum for you to hear it!

You're the biggest shit stirrer of them all now that mj himself is gone, so you're obviously nothing more than a slightly more coherent vessel of him.  I don't know where you're getting this junky stuff from, but I don't do junk, and I'm not saying that junk is any better or worse than mushrooms.  I'm saying that you have an obvious ego problem because you've taken too many mushrooms and you believe that you're somehow superior to people who don't eat them constantly.  Hmm, sounds familiar.  You're also trying to pass off mj's consistently rude behavior as "sometimes caustic".  :stonedjerk:

Take your preachy mushroom beliefs to a forum where they belong, this is a discussion about how the Shroomery can avoid legal liabilities with unstable lawsuit-happy idiots like mjshroomer in the future.  I'm not here to debate you about the validity of his lawsuit, but I don't think he should have the right to involve the Shroomery itself for simply being the way in which ideas/information were exchanged which caused the problem in the first place.  If he hadn't posted those pics and his personal info nobody would have been calling him a pedo or whatever else.  That's the fucking truth.
