silent or with mantra? I've done both. Silent was with aid from indian buddha.

IMO, meditating and tripping go hand in hand and tripping is best when done meditating. You should try.

i have meditated a few times while on shrooms. I have to say it was very easy to get into a deep level of meditation. My best trips only happen when i meditate, and i like to combine yoga breathing and postures before or early into the trip.

One could generalize the following statement made about LSD to mushrooms, but this quote was lifted from 'LSD: My Problem Child' by Dr. Albert Hofmann.

I've just started experimenting with this - see my post in Spirituality titled 'Shroom Trance / Body Electricity' - I've never really meditated so I'm sure if I learned some different regular meditation tecniques it'd help. It seems that it's easier for me to do not long after I start to trip. I just close my eyes sitting comfortably in a chair. I get a type of energy flowing all over my body, often times I hear a type of music and feel different presences around me, usually feminine. The buzzing/music sound seems to come from inside of my head. The last time the energy flowed all over my face, in and out of my nose, mouth and ears. It seemed to prefer my right ear and I heard several distinct tones in that ear. It's hard to explain, it seemed to be trying to tell me something but I couldn't interpret it. It kind of gave up, circled my face and was gone. Strange experience, I will try to explore it more in the future.
