In reply to:

It's still unproven but I suggest that you dont use it. Most people claim "100% success" with the oven tek but the thing is that they're using PF-Tek cakes which are allready VERY resisant to contaminations due to the dry vermiculite layer (contaminate barrier). Its when you start using whole grains / agar etc. etc. that you need to worry.

Hey there,
I know my gas oven has a pretty strong upward flow when it is fired up...more than a regular electric oven. I am comfortable with it compared to nothing. I do know I was able prepare good syringes with a print/spore spreader combo and I scraped the print into the spore spreader using the oven tek. Took about three or four seconds top with a good Kalinga hunting knife to get some... . I tried your experiment Anno using some incense around the sides of a 1 litre glass with a wide mouth and was not able to get any smoke to go down into the glass. It spun across the top like your picture but did not enter once in 30-40 seconds I held the incense stick around the glasses perimeter area. Avoiding disrupting the air flow around the sides of the container would be prudent I would suppose based on your picture. Even that small incense stick alters the dynamics. A HEPA filter setup would eliminate those issues.
Best regards,

I use my oven. Haven't had a problem yet doing rye berry grain transfers. I'm still new though so I could just be good with my sterilization or just dumb luck. I wanna make a SAB eventually though to work on perfecting that method.

Read the post date. Donβt bump old threads. And use a still air box, not your oven.

Neither. Still air box or flowhood are only way to go.
