killer stomach pain and prevention

has anyone had that really bad stomach bug/flu thing, where you're in so much pain you feel like you're going to die..?

i feel like it's about to come back. i pray to gods, it doesn't.

but this weird slightly painful feeling is coming, like the last few times it happend. like a huge build up...  :sad:

does anyone have any recommendations for prevention of this fucked up sickness??

i would love you lots!!

That's fucked up. I'd guzzle plenty of fluids and some Peptobismul until I got that checked out.

Usually when I get a gut ache, a nice good shit takes care of things. I don't really get much stomach sickness since I started cutting out trans fats, sugar, and basically trying to keep things balanced out.

Hope that stuff passes, man. I'm sure others that are more knowledgeable will chime in too.

cheers.. yea na this thing is definately not a normal stomach ache...
and i'm worried that it's becoming more common...

it's really bad. really really bad. pain is unbearable -
im glad my dad gave me his really strong opiate based pain killers last time. it saved me. but i dont have any pain killers this time.
its fucking scary...

Try your local herbal shop and get Slippery Elm capsules. They do work wonders for me.

I experienced something like that when I combined some painkillers for a toothache. A search on PubMed may turn up results showing intense gastrointestinal upset thru the combination of certain drugs such as aspirin & codeine or something.

hmmm i dont know if it would be that... last time i had codeine it was wednesday...
i had a 10mg codeine for a headache on fridayu.

Activated charcoal. It comes in capsules and can probably be found at your a herb shop or health food store like GNC.

It bonds to toxins in your stomach and carries them out of your body. I use it whenever I drink heavily and I no longer have hangovers because it binds to the chemicals that would normally cause one.

If its a true bug oregano oil will knock it out cold.

sounds like to me its something other than a bug. if it keeps happening on a regular basis, its something else. its damn near impossible to keep getting the same bug over and over unless you have an immune system defect. normal immune systems learn to block a virus once your body is overtaken by them, once you get a certain strain, you shouldnt ever get it again because your body figures it out.

i would seriously get it checked out the next time you have it. it could also be something in your diet, i know back when i was in highschool i would get stomach pains right around the same time in the morning..... turns out ego waffles and pop tarts were the culprit lol.

just exactly how often does it happen? what time of day? how long does it last?

in the meantime, make yourself some ginger tea and see if that helps. use fresh ginger root from the grocery store. its really good for nausea and upset stomachs.

i completely agree with this. oil of oregano is the strongest antibiotic, antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral known to man. much stronger and effective than even immoxicillan(sp.?).

More details, please. You say that it's a "bug," but you don't describe any other symptoms. Do you get a fever? Chills? Body aches? Do you throw up? Do you have bad gas or diarrhea? Constipation?

There are so very many health imbalances that exhibit symptoms via the stomach and intestines, that it is impossible to narrow it down without details.

I was lucky this time, and the pain didn't increase as much as it did last time... and I fell asleep and woke up feeling normal, with no more stomach pain.....
I'm so glad...

Last time it happened, I was under stress and I wasn't 100% physically ... so it could have been fever related.
The time before that (about 1 month before) the whole thing lasted about 24 hours and the pain peaked for about 8 hours...

The time before that was about a 1.5 years ago, and that was the worst ever, but the symptoms were different...( lots of spewing up, couldn't keep anything in the stomach, not even water, and would have to spew or shit everytthing out, halluciantions, sweats, tremors etc.. ) - I guess I was really just fucking sick.

but the last 3 times (this year) No body aches or chills!
No diarrhea or constipation... and no throwing up! although I did make myself throw up, but it didn't help anything

can oregano oil have any side effects?

No known side effects. I use it everyday because I have an abcessed tooth I can't afford to treat right now. The oil kills the infection.

Yeah, I'm thinking opiates are stalling your gastric processes resulting in a large backup of gas or something that the magnesium helped(?)

oregano oil can cause problems in higher doses, stick to around 5 drops in a cup of water at a time, you can probably do that 3-5 times a day safely.

no prob. i really would suggest looking into it further at the doctor, to at least find out what you have. it might be more serious than you think.

any discoloration in the stools? If they are blackish that probably means an ulcer. just a warning/heads up
