I thought it was a beautiful drug. I could see its potential for abuse because there was no hangover whatsoever, but I still love it and I can't wait to have the opportunity to try it again.

Beer is good stuff, don't regret drinking beer at all. Hard alcohol is where the problems start.

"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise." - Aldous Huxley

Marijuana.

In college it was what was available, and my friends always wanted to smoke. It always just made me paranoid and tired (well, ok there were some hilarious times too). But I pretty much had no social life during those times. And that's what I really needed.

At least tobacco taught me self discipline. (from quitting...repeatedly)

For me it was DXM. I was on a year long ride with that stuff. Not an addiction but I was using it fairly frequently. This was when I was 16. The problem with that stuff is that I actually enjoyed it. Hell, I loved it!

Same here. I got into the shit when I was young and dumb and couldn't find any good drugs other than pot.

I was young and dumb when I started using DXM, I was young and retarded by the time I stopped using it. :toomuchacid:

I did DXM several times when I was 14. However, I was an idiot and I did Tylenol extra strength, and Tussin DM, both of which contain active ingredients other than DXM. Even though I never surpassed a level3 trip, I think I got permantly fucked up. Is that possible?

Yes, even as a dumb kid I knew not to take the stuff containing anything but DXM. You should check your liver! I know just from the DEX however that it made my thought process slower for a couple years after using it. I'm pretty sure I've recovered from any brain damage it may have done.

DXM, it felt like psychedelic heroin sometimes. It gave me the false illusion of gaining some type of insight. Being so cheap and plentiful (powder), it turned out to be a pretty bad thing altogether.
