Dream about birth and death in hospital
    #7145488 -

Hey guys,
So I was hoping someone with knowledge of dreams and dream symbols could help me figure out what this dream might be saying about me.

A little bit of background: my dreams are usually very banal and involve me looking for drugs or trying to hit on girls... I've just recently decided to stop smoking pot except for maybe once every once or two weeks. This dream I had this morning is one of the most seemingly symbolic dreams I've had in a long time and sense it could be important. Here is the dream as written in my dream journal:

I am in a hospital. I go into a room and there is a very old woman there in a pink gown. She is trying to tell me something? I go into another room and tell this to a nurse who assures me this woman died years ago..

"What???" I say in amazement and demand her to go look for herself. She comes back and says nobody is there. I fast forward to the next day and the nurse tells me that two of the old woman's living relatives have come. They are phillipino and there is a father, mother and a young teenage girl. The girl is in a wheelchair and her dad is gently explaining how they're (the hospital) is going to amputate her leg.

"It won't even hurt... they'll cut it right here"

I see a tear form in the girl's eye and I have to look away. I feel like I am intruding on something which is no business of mine. When I turn around, my brother and mother are there, as are a very old couple. The old woman pushes around an old man who has no arms or legs but instead has a claw for an arm, something like an egg baster for another arm and other tools for his legs. I think about how life would be more convenient if I could be pushed around everywhere in a wheelchair.

I tell the man I am jealous of his claw and he smiles politely. My twin brother beckons me to a counter where he is looking at photographs of us through our lifetime - all of which probably never existed. He shows me some kind of paradoxical picture that references me outside the picture walking down a hallway with a hoodie on and I'm slightly looking down. He says he likes the picture (because of it's strangeness).

A doctor appears and tells us to stop looking at his pictures. My brother immediatly leaves but I stay for a moment and self-righteously tell the doctor:

"These aren't your pictures, they are my pictures and they hold great personal meaning to me"

He says "O.K" as I close the door behind me, without the pictures. I leave the hospital down some stairs and I see three or four clowns in a large opening, performing for an audience. They are flinging something at the audience; I feel slightly threatened but then I see it is only balloons shaped like animals. They fling one at me as I'm walking by and I excitedly go and catch it. I spot my old neighbor Mr. Stobnicky (who I always pictured as an ideal family man) and we both smile. I catch two more animals, one of them is an elephant which a woman really wants so I agree to trade it for her rhino.

I spot my brother and mother again, this time they are sitting on a bench with a familiar woman and her new born baby. As I'm sitting there with them my brother asks If I think it is possible for a man to impregenate a woman while he is dying or dead and goes on to tell me that he believes I am the father of this baby.

"Why do you think that?" I ask.
"He seems to really want your attention" he replies.

I look down and the baby is tapping my leg and crying. I pick the baby up and smile at it and it starts laughing joyously. I rub my head on it's belly and the baby likes this even more. The baby also likes it when I tickle it's head. I feel genuinely happy and the dream ends with the baby in my arms

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not know what to make of this dream. Why am I seeing dead people and why does my brother tell me I made this baby while I was dying? Could the baby represent a new stage of my life being birthed from the ending of another? The balloon animals and the childhood pictures suggest that I could be rediscovering a lost part of my childhood...

Any insights would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
