Depressed by Mr Rogers' death
    #1339605 - 02/27/03 07:35 AM (14 years, 2 months ago)

I'm sad because of the death of Mr Fred Rogers by stomach cancer. I never knew him, but yet I did. I used to watch him every morning when I was little. I felt a bond with him. I learned things from him. Can anyone give me some kind words in this time of trouble.

Damn man, I loved that guy when I was a kid and still watch his show for a few minutes whenever I see a rerun is on.

I think the main thing I appreciated was his sincerity in the show, a lot of other children shows come off soooo fake compared to his.

Mr. Rodgers always gave me such a comfortable and happy feeling towards life. He represented to me what really matters in the human experience.

REST IN PEACE with much love and respect, thanks a lot Fred wherever you are.

I remember when Mr. Cooper from Sesame street died.

I also remember the time Mr. Rogers went to the mushroom farm.

Oh, and the time he met Lou Ferigno. (The Hulk)

He really really was a good guy. He was what I would call a Father Teresa. He was a little odd, but he was just one of those people that really and truely loved helping kids. Its a shame, and I personally hope he was not in pain very long. If there is a heaven, I know he is there. No doubt. Mr. Rogers you will truely be missed. I didn't know you personally but would have liked to shake your hand before you left this place. Rest in Peace.

I know what you mean. Mr. Rogers death hit me hard then the "PF" and "Pipe Dreams" fiascos combined. Definetly a sad day for most of us.

He will be missed!!!

Imagines Ripper and Rogers sharing a J singing "Won't you be my neighbor"

I agree that Mr. Rogers was very sincere in his love for children, and I have forgotten how much I loved watching his show when I was a kid. I enjoyed watching his routine every show at the beginning, coming inside and switching sweaters, then taking off his shoes, etc. He was trying to teach kids manners and life values in every part of the show, values that are important for people to get along and enjoy life.

He really did serve his purpose well in the show, I am very disheartened that he died.

Thanks for your help, Mr. Rodgers

Mr. Rogers saying if you met him in person was "Think about what you do today"
I think the whole world should take his advice.
