False Peyotes

Who's got cactus used for divination which are not peyote, but often look like peyote? If you guys don't know what I'm talking about I'll list some.....

lophophora diffusa and ariocarpus are great candidates for 'fake' peyotes....though i have neither, i went for true blue lophophora williamsii var. caespitosa....was gonna get a diffusa, since its legal in the U.S. , but a great person came to me with a trade proposition :grin:

Here are some examples-Epithelantha micromeris - Hikuli Mulato, Coryphantha compacta, Mammillaria senilis, Ariocarpus Fissuratus, Ariocarpus retusus scheidw and “other false peyotes” Note- There is nothing false about the chemicals in these cacti, they are called "false peyote" simply because they are sometimes sold as peyote but are not lophophora williamsii.

i dunno i dont pay much attention to other cacti chemicals, i stick to my mescaline. trichocereus and lophs are the best :grin:

many false peyotes are actually called peyote :smile:

i grow some astro's...had some ariocarpus but its too hot here, so they be dead.

not so much tripping...she has a hard time with me eating mushy yellow crap that i paid a couple hundred dollars for...

i am on vacation from ingesting plants....we agreed no more till after babies.  next false peyote that dies on me (trust me, i try not to make a habit of it!!!) has your name on it :wink:

earthworms and sow bugs eat my dead cacti, which in turn gets digested and fed back to my plants. full circle. honestly, peyote tastes like shit when its "good"....when its hot mushy and dead, i really could not imagine putting that anywhere near my mouth!

i just meant if you noticed it was dead...why would'nt you eat it, if it hasn't started to rot. you can find them at your local nursery. mine usually has astrophytum capricorne, astrophytum myriostigma, not always but sometimes astrophytum asterias, mammillaria (you need good id skills for these), the ocassional coryphantha macromeris and rare but sometimes ariocarpus.
