I don't know what benefits it would have. I just heard the mycellium seems to prefer natural water.

If you get mineral water, it's probably wise to avoid the lemon or lime flavored (probably too acidic..)

I just made my first batch ever a few weeks ago. I used regular purified water. No contamination in all 12 jars. They are fruiting very well. Just try different things until you have put together the easiest and best process for yourself.
