I don't know what benefits it would have. I just heard the mycellium seems to prefer natural water.

If you get mineral water, it's probably wise to avoid the lemon or lime flavored (probably too acidic..)

I just made my first batch ever a few weeks ago. I used regular purified water. No contamination in all 12 jars. They are fruiting very well. Just try different things until you have put together the easiest and best process for yourself.

I use bottled mnt. spring or drinking water, or mineral water for everything that has to do with growing. The only thing I use distilled wate for is syringes becasue there are no nutriants for the spores to start germinating in the water. I never use tap water for anything except washing dishes.

I find tap water even boiled,,, will still cause contamination problems. Just my person observation.
