Hate Speech VS Drug Speech

Are Pro-Hate "rallies" more tolerated than Pro-Drug "rallies"?

In other words, do you think we are moving forward ub the tolerance of bigots, than than the tolerance of drug users and what they have to say?

Could I get arrested telling people they should use weed, and I'd be fine if I handed out flyers to join the Nazi Party?

There are pro-legalization rallies all the time, with no counter-protestors. Meanwhile, Klan rallies and Neo-Nazis preach to small audiences, with lots of people protesting the rallies. America may not completely embrace drug users yet, but we're still a hell of a lot more accepted than bigots(at least the type that wears an armband or white sheets).

Hmm, it's hard to say. I would definitely say that the government sees drugs as a bigger threat than hate speech. But at the same time, most citizens would tolerate certain drugs more than hate speech. So I guess the question is, tolerated by who? No, you could not be arrested for advocating legalization of weed unless you had some on you and they found it.

Ya think I wouldn't get ill attention handing out flyers for a public "The Truth about LSD" or "How Pot will save the world" ect...I have a feeling in CT I'd be chastised for something like that.

Or is it the media just ignores them more?

I don't know. In this city I think it would be the reverse.  I don't know that it's the cops that'd give you a problem about the Nazi flyers though..you'd probably get run off by a group of angry people instead. :lol:

I've actually been thinking that when the next NYState legislative session starts up I should print out some of my own pamphlets about medical marijuana and hand them out around New York City, including web URL's for the Waiting to Inhale movie on Google Video.

I'm not saying you won't encounter opposition for supporting drugs. I'm just saying that you'll get less negative attention than if you went around preaching white supremacy.
