Is internet communication efficient?
    #7095807 -

Of course internet communication has some huge flaws that are inherent... like the lack of eyebrows and inflection, increased ambiguity...etc.

But for grasping, from source to person, and retaining information, I think it is the most efficient.
for example:
"I think that H.R. Geiger's work has been grossly under appreciated by the fickle masses"

now, however trite that may be, the difference between me saying that to you at a pretentious wine tasting gathering, and me typing that here is that we have endless informational resources a click away.
With face to face communication, someone who has no idea who HR Geiger is, or what the word "fickle" and "grossly" means would gain nothing.... until more unnecessary communication was engaged, such as "who is HR Geiger?" and the ever so rare admission of english incompetence "what does that word mean?".
Now, as you read this on the internet, you can instantly look up pictures, references, essays, and other various forms of information, thus educating yourself from anothers perspective, as well as fully comprehending all the letters that make up all the words that make up the entire thought.
I think this way, more information is retained and fully grasped.

the internet is a revoltuion in the way that human beings communicate. More than that it is an archive of information accessable to anyone throughout the most of world, which is an amazing feat in itself.

Yes, the Internet is a powerful tool that gives everyone a voice. It's a vast array of computers, networks, and various technologies maintained by a small army of systems and network administrators.

All so people can look at porn and call each other foul names.
Yay, humanity. :fappage::supercrankey:
