What is a good ratio for Demonoid?

I don't want to get the person who gave me an invite banned.

My ratio is .17

lol, that's a pretty terrible ratio. Mine is sitting at 1.83 right now.

My suggestion would be to download a popular movie or tv show and let it sit for a few days.

Anything with a ton of leechers. My ratio is at 3.83, I don't really even try to keep it up, it will stay high on its own if you don't cancel things right after they finish downloading.

With your ratio, I doubt you have any...but to check go to the "control panel" and there you'll find what you need.

My ratio is has been frozen at like 2.6 for the longest time.  I don't know why it won't update.  I just got an invite to OiNK, and damn that ratio is hard as hell to get up compared to Demonoid.

The ratio is your uploaded size compared to your downloaded size.  As an example, if you downloaded 5gigs and uploaded 10gigs, your ratio would be 2.0 (10gigs/5gigs).

so fucking true. i've got like 2.6 ratio for demonoid with even trying. But with oink, i had to actively search for something i could upload just to not get banned. I'm too scared to use oink right now because i want to make sure i've got something to upload before i try dling anything.

I uploaded 4gigs just last night.  Thank god for 2gig eBook packs. 

Just go over to Demonoid and see if there are any popular eBooks greater than ~300MB that OiNK doesn't have uploaded yet and download those from Demonoid.  Then just host those on OiNK, and you're guaranteed at least the size of the eBook as an upload if not more.  2 more gigs and I'm a poweruser+. :smile:

here's an easy way to up your ratio with oink, however you have to burn some to earn some.

Go download a torrent like rosetta stone or a MS office package etc

Download like the first 600 megs to a gig.

Let the partial download just sit and sit and sit

Soon your ration will rocket up and you can start downloading what you want.

That's the method i used, shot me up from a .19 to a .79 in like a week. Still not as fast as demonoid, but it works, oink is great because of the speeds, quality and selection. However it sucks because you have to constantly make sure your ratio can handle a download unless you have things to upload.

That's how they keep oink speeds and selections great though. Through competition for uploading and creating new torrents.

i'm at 1.96, i seed all the albums i download for at least 5 days. i've been seeding season 1-3 of entourage for a month now.

Just make sure you seed to at least 1:1 and everything will be all good. Make sure you do it though, cause I know that if I get banned because of the negligence of someone I invited I'll be pissed.

haha, so fucking true. I got oink and for the beginning was so worried about getting booted for a low ratio. At the moment I have .640 so eh.. i'm alright for now.

I really like DC++. That's usually my first stop for getting something, then I check the free torrent sites. THEN if all else fails I hit up Oink for whatever.

I like the ebooks they got. some good shit and they don't kill my ratio.
