can someone please tell me the difference between demonoid and say, btjunkie?

btjunkie was always my preferred site for searching for torrents but recently i have recieved an invite for demonoid. i always thought that there would be more harder to find torrents and that there would be heeps more people seeding. so far this hasn't been the case.

And also, how does my demonoid account know how much i download and upload? because i have had my account for a few days and it still says that i havn't downloaded and uploaded anything.

The big difference between private and public trackers that I notice is speed. On a public tracker I might get 40KB/s on a good day. With a private tracker I get 700KB/s on a good day. I'll take the 12 minute download over 4 hour download any day. The only downside I see with private trackers is being careful to keep a good ratio.

yeah i thought it would be the speed that would be a difference, but i usually get speeds of up to 150KB/s when i download from btjunkie which is my max speed. i have five torrents from demonoid going now and combined they are only at 71KB/s. but maybe some other fucker is downloading shit out in my lounge room? maybe.

and when you search for torrents at demonoid it comes up with things other than what you searched for for example i searched for 'blutonium boy' and the first thing that came up was '100%Tuning 1 Mixed By DJ Zany ( hardstyle)'. same genre of music but no blutonium boy. how the fuck does that work:shrug:

I just downloaded the movie transformers via btjunkie. When I tried to play the movie it couldn't load it into my bsplayer. There was an text document included which said if the movie doesn't play go to website blabla.bla and download some special codecs. So I did and as soon as I had finished downloading the codecs my antivirus gave me a warning that this file was total bullshit. Go figure.

And demonoid is quite shitty when compared to other private trackers. I never get good DL speeds from there.

Always download aXXo's releases. Not one has ever failed, great quality and always released early. C'mon he's the friggin King.

It was my understanding that all except Pirate Bay and Demonoid had subcummed to releasing their users searches/downloads or shutdown all together. Or had an infiltration of companies luring folks into downloads only to set them up and sue them.....

Please tell me it isn't so.

But that's the two who I have stuck with. However, if there is another site somebody could put me up on that is safe for searching, please let me know. I would really appreciate it. :smile:

i trust demonoid. every single torrent ive ever downloaded with a demonoid stamp of approval has worked perfectly so i dont know where the hate is coming from, but thats just my experience :smile:

always scan files before you open them.

btjunkie was good when it comes to virus's and shit until recently, like the last few months i have noticed.

always download axxo, unless it's a fake axxo then it should say in the comments.
