yeah i know a lot of people had been looking for them.

i really dont think they are that great anymore. demonoid was really awesome like 4 or 5 years ago. but whatever.. someone will appreciate it.

i dont think their speeds or file availability is any better than public trackers like the pirate bay or btjunkie. using a private tracker like RevTT or Acid is like night and day.

i get a solid +1Mbps down on RevTT with 90% of the torrents. not even close on demonoid.

there are too many hit and runs and people throttle their upload speeds. its really easy to keep a good ratio on demonoid so theres no reason to keep seeding.

thats my thoughts though :shrug:

I find demonoid has a higher ratio of quality torrents though. The public trackers is more of a free for all.

There are some things that Demonoid has that I don't see on public trackers, but not too much.

frith, whatever RevTT is, it works better than demonoid?

yeah RevolutionTT. i use that, Acid, and Awesome-HD pretty much exclusively.

i agree that there are some things on Demonoid that arent anywhere else but that is a really super small amount of stuff.

and usually i can just put up a request on RevTT or Acid and ill have a link in a day or two.. depends on what it is.

dont get me wrong, Demonoid is still awesome. comparatively its just not so hot. :shrug:

They have open registration every now and then. Just need to keep your eyes open.

HD-torrents is also an excellent site. Supertorrents and STmusic are quality also.

either invitation or when they have open signups. RevTT and Acid had open registrations around christmas time. thats when i got on. not sure when they are doing it again.

ill probably make another thread like this if it ever comes up again.

i could be wrong but i believe the way they do it is they have a set number of allowed users. once it hits that number they close the registrations down.

actually, come to think of it.. Acid also made me send them a screenshot showing i belonged to two other private trackers before letting me in.
