You will know an active when you taste it. if you've tasted one before, that is. They are quite unpalatable for most people, and the slimy gills will try to grasp the sides of your throat on the way down, making the gag reflex even worse. No, don't eat those. I don't eat edible mushrooms (except actives) so I guess I'm not the best person to answer, but I do know those aren't active.

My favorites are weeping willows, which aren't really weeping at all. They're very wispy, witty and will dance in the breeze with you. Nothing like a tree that wants to dance with you. Although it doesn't like its thin limbs being pulled at all, it absolutely LOVES it when you walk through them, letting them gently slide over your face and shoulders. If you're naked, the willow considers it to be sex. It will orgasm on your mind and you will blow dream chunks into outer space. yea ive eaten shrooms b4. i actually kinda like the taste of dry mushies. but everyone else that i trip with things im insane lol. theres always next hunt heh :smile:

I believe that the Panaeolus antillarum is edible, though there are very few reports about it. I don't know of any poisonous Panaeolus species. The only reference regarding the edibility of this species is from the Wikipedia article on it, which I wrote. I don't have access to my reference books right now, but they must list it as edible.
