Re: EQs, are they slow to colonize?
    #69956 -

I innoculted 5 jars with Ryche's Eqs. 18 days later they were fully colonized. In covered casing for 4 days with Shroom Wiz tek. 10 days later and I am looking at about 100 pins per tray. A few are beyond mere pinhood.

I kept my temps at colonization around 84 degrees. i removed the tape after day 5 or so. short 1/2 pint widemouth jars.

Good luck!

I innocultated 6 jars with Ryche's EQ and 1 was fully colonized on day 21, 2 more on day 28 and last three were ready on day 32...

I used the tall skinny half pint jars, temp pretty constant between 84-88. Substrate was plain MMGG.....

Cased the 1st three jars, case is on day 5.

Put last 3 cakes in terrarium yesterday...

SO far nothing exciting, yet....

Checked my jars this morning and five show small areas of growth. One jar has a tiny black spot at the point of innoculation. The white fuzz is growing off of this spot. Hopefully this is just a clump of spores and not contamination.

My friend bought sporechicks EQ and one jar fully colonized in 2 weeks with the others not far behind. That particular jar was innoculated with 2cc's of spore solution as opposed to the 1cc, just for your reference. He kept the incubation chamber at a constant 81 degrees using a heating pad and a line voltage thermostat purchased at home depot. No contams in any jar.

I used sporechicks eq's also. It took about a week and a half to show any signs of groath...but then they exploded, and went crazey for a couple weeks. I am now ready to case. All i can say is just wait...they will pay off in the long run.

I inoculated 20 jars w/ Sporechick's Eq's and 19 days later most of the jars are about 70% colonized. I keep the incubation chambers 80-90 degrees using hot water bottles in coolers. But I used only one 12 cc syringe to inject all the jars which surely must be causing it to take a while. But that was anticipated. Waiting does suck though. Had a dream last night about mushrooms.
