What is your Kiersey type?

Link to the Kiersey test.

Information on types (google has much more)

Is it an accurate depiction of who you are? Is it an accurate assessment of an individual? Can you truly assess a personality on the basis of general questions? Will the statistics be representative of population statistics or will a more specific type be represented at the shroomery? Any further comments welcomed.

I got INTJ it almost described me perfectly except for a few things. I've taken other similar tests and they're always wrong. I could never rely on a test to tell me who or how I am, thats for me to find out.

INFP here.
The description is pretty accurate, one of the most accurate I've found in these kinds of tests.
The questions (some of them) were a little confusing in the way that they were worth speculated upon, but that's what happens with these models of tests.
All in all I liked it :smile:

I got INFJ. The Kiersey description was fairly accurate although not in a very striking or precise way, but the J.Butt and M.M. Heiss descriptions were both so spot on and specific it's almost scary.

The thing is, half the time I wanted to pick both yes and no as my answer, because my response varies depending on context, mood, etc. I would have appreciated a scale of 1-5 rather than yes/no. I think that would be more accurate, although more complicated to tally the results.

ISTJ here. I'd say the results are only quasi-accurate, as I am an odd mix of personality traits. :tongue:

INFJ

    * moderately expressed introvert
    * distinctively expressed intuitive personality
    * slightly expressed feeling personality
    * moderately expressed judging personality

I have taken this test (in many different forms) MANY times (I majored in psychology), and I get a slightly different result each time.  On one version, it was possible to "tie," and my type ended up XXXJ.  :lol:

I would say that any personality test describes your current mood.

INFJ here too. Still into reading all these descriptions, but it sounds quite fair so far :smile:

Hey, you and I are the only INFPs thus far!  Right on! :laugh:

I think the descriptions got me to a tee, though the whole 'Healer' thing is a bit of an ego-stroke.  It was awesome to see the Calvin & Hobbes reference, I think that comic shaped my worldview more than any other books I've ever come upon.  Or maybe it just meshed well with my innate way of looking at the world - who can be sure?.

I took a similar version of the Myers-Briggs my freshman year of college in a Communications course and got the same result.  My teacher was an ENFP and I really loved being around her.  She had studied at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto.  I learned a lot about human interaction from her and it was at a time when I was becoming interested in Stanislav Grof and the field of psychology he pioneered.

Interesting how many introverts there are here.

I really thrive in social situations and am really extroverted a lot of the time - in fact almost always when there's any kind of positive atmosphere. But I do enjoy spending a lot of time by myself doing yoga, surfing the web, reading, meditating, watching movies, walking in nature, listening to music, etc., and would probably become really anxious and miserable if I did not have any alone time.

This is the distinction between extrovert and introvert, IMO.  If you find interactions with others to be energizing, and do not feel the lack of alone time, you are an extrovert.  If you find interactions with others to be draining, and need time alone to recharge, you are an introvert.

I would guess that extroverts are generally underrepresented on internet discussion boards, thought.  :wink:  IRL, most people are extroverts.

Fireworks_god, from your posts I would have envisioned you as more of an extroverted type. Dunno why though, you just have a certain social energy about you.

I'm curious to read the descriptions of other letter-combos cause I've only read mine. Also would be cool to read about compatibility.
