should I case?

I have a pf cake and It produced 3 mushies and then I dunked. It then produced 2 mushies. The only thing that it's growing out of is some mycellia that colonized the perlite and its a side growth. The top and sides of the cake are doing nothing. Could I case it with 50/50? How big should the casing be for 1 cake? How thick should the 50/50 at the bottom be? How thick shoud the soil at the top be? Thanks for any and all replys as Im stuck and It would be my 1st casing attempt.

You'll probably want to start some new cakes and case with that. Try to get that cake to produce more: you said you allready dunked it so check your enviromental conditions and give it plenty of light.
