Myco Enviroment Bag Questions

I am planning on ordering a enviroment bag from sporeworks and I have a few questions. First off, I am using the bag tek because it seems to be the easiest to keep hidden do to its small size. When it is colonizing in the shipping box could I use the aquarium heater in the jar of water tek to keep it warm inside the box? I've tested the temp in different places in the house and it doesnt seem suitable (rent keeps it freezing). And after colonization is complete and it requires light, can this be artifical light like from a lamp or does it have to be sunlight? I will most likely keep the box in my closet. I plan on moving out in a month or so and would like to try the casing tek but at the moment this will have to due. Plus I think it be good to get my feet wet in the world of growing mushrooms. :-) I have a digital camera and will keep a log in the picture forum as soon as I start. Any tips, hints, etc, etc would be great! -Thrift

BTW, This might sound crazy but I read somewhere that someone actually used a string of christmas lights as a light source since, again from what I have read in tek docs and on thsi forum, that they only need light to grow towards. Any truth to this?

Hey, I use the water jug and aquarium heater tek inside of a larger container like a rubbermaid tub, tupperware, ect. Something that has a removable lid. After colonization it works great when you put a plexi-glass cover over the container, but I am not sure which type of lighting is best. I have a little of both natural and artificial light seeping in on them.

Indirect light works fine. After my friends bags colonized he just opened the box flaps and set it on his dresser at room temp. The bag will fruit like that. During colonization the box was taped shut and put on top shelf in closet with a 75 watt light bulb..temp stayed around 80 degrees. On the dresser at fruiting temp its only about 70 to 72. That is the beauty of the bags. You dont need a elaborate set up at all. In fact you need no setup actually. I hope this helps

OK, So what do you prefer, natural or artificial light! It seems that natural light works best. (And please knock me out before the hungry son-of-a-bitches start chewing on my limbs, thanx jack ass)
