I have never seen a difference. Yes, it will grow just as well...the main concern is with contams and with keeping the mix oxygenated.

Well that brings up another question I've had... some people mention that getting oxygen to growing mycellium is mandatory, while others say that the mycellium needs high CO2 so that, when it's birthed, the sudden high exposure to oxygen will trigger fruiting.

Which is right?

You have to look at it from natures stand point. Most of the time in nature mycelium grows underground. This is where the " grow in dark", and low oxygen High CO2 grow tips come from. I have used these teks my self all the years I have grown. You want to try and create as natural of an enviroment as possible. As for the high oxygen needed. I will have to agree, just remember when the fruit breaks through the surface in nature. It really does get as much oxygen as needed.

Interesting point about the CO2 GorgeousTortoise. I have never heard that...but it rings true when considering the natural life cycle. When I first started using liquid inoculation four years ago, I read a short report on it and have used that method ever since. It stressed the need for oxygen. I never questioned it because my trial and errors substantiated it. My efforts kept failing till I started using a magnetic stirrer to oxygenate the malt soup. I had tried bubbling filtered air into it, but it was too much of a hassle. Honestly I have never tried to raise the CO2 so I have nothing to compare with...all I know is...without oxygenation...nothing...and with...success.

Anyone tried it both ways?
