could you take freshly grown shroom, put it in a blender with sterilized water and h202, and draw up into syringe and innoc? would this be a big contam risk?

big contam risk...if mushrooms could reproduce like that then they wouldn't drop spores....

NO but you can take a 100% colonized cake and put it into a sterlized blender with sterilized water and make a slurry with it and they you can you use this to inoculate substrate or chug it down hahah
the needle of the syringe would be way to small to suck up any of the fresh mushroom blended or slurry so even if it would work it still wouldn't work

the only part of a mushroom that you can clone is where the cap meets the stem and up(so a very small part)

how stterile would this have to be, if the blender was just washed and wiped down with alcohol would this be enough? would a generous amount of h202 help?

I would wash it and then put boiling water in it and blend the water for awhile then if you want you can wipe it down with alcohol
or wipe it down with alcohol(after washed) then put the boiling water and blend it

there's a difference between liquid mycelium and tissue culture...you were asking about liquid mycelium...
this link will explain liquid mycelium http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23545
and this link will explain tissue cultures http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23544
how dare you question my 30 mushroom rating authority

don't mess with the blender tec.. too much hassle .
instead makeup some dextrose, or karo water .
add 1 ml. 3% h2o2 to 100 ml. liquid .
then all you need is a little tiny piece of live tissue, and incubate for 5 days or so .
cap or stem, doesn't matter .
i have done this in the open air .
i even had one jar that ants got into somehow, and it still was a viable culture .
lol, george just lucky i guess .

Actually, I inoculated 1 PF cake out of 5 from direct stipe tissue into a 4% dextrose (with H202) solution immediately to the PF glasses.
Now one took off and worked. The other four didn't, despite waiting 7 days. I decided to multispore inoculate the other four and they came good (now cased).
From that half-arse play about, I believe the tiny pieces of stipe tissue actually cultured in the injected solution on the inside of the glass and then moved to the BRF. I had noted with a 10x lens that mycelum was growing initially on the inside glass wall, not in the substrate. Not that I suggest doing this bodgy caper as a matter of course ha!
But for what it's worth, I cut up the clone PF cake into small pieces and tossed it into 3 jars of millet. They're now taking off. Meanwhile the clone dextrose solution has grown on. If I had the bytes left (only 46kb left for 24hrs lol) I'd upload the pics.
flow, give it a go, you never know your luck but with a 20% result in my effort...umm I think you're better off growing it out in a dextrose solution first.

You can clond other parts of tissue than that exact spot. It's alot easier to grow a grain jar of popcorn or rye and then put that in with some water and shake it hard.... the water rips the mycelium off the corn/rye and gives the thickest most beautiful mycelium syringes ever. Go check out "easy mycelium innoculation technique" on the shroomery.
