Have you ever met a psychonaught that was just good at absolutely everything?

I want to know what the communities opinions are about those modern renaissance people that credit most of their creativity and scholarly acheivements to their drug use?

I am being exposed to a number of these types, constantly pushing me to spread the word about a new method. Something about mastering what you hate and destroying it from the inside. An individual who seemed to be very into the variety of liberal arts and also science reccomended me to try to find as many things as possible that I know I am inherently good at. Alot of these individuals credit psychadelics for giving them the intuitive nudge to try something new and respectable once mastered yet they strongly beleive that the population did not have to used drugs in order to follow that road. I guess a good example would be the number of people in the music industry that use acid as a technical tool for their music, allowing them to perform sophisticated, random, but unusually precise musical tasks with an abundance of analog and digital equipment while being an expert carpenter and having a Phd in Math and physics.

I feel like there is about to be a new idea in which the search for maximizing our potential as human beings that is about to be popularized. Yet I feel like this new renaissance idea will not truly be a sellout fad like the current pop culture of today, only because this fad encourages the community to be more intellectual (Assuming that all the people we call stupid only exhibit that behaviour due to social conditions and environment; I have faith in the idea that every human being on this earth has some sort of genius potential). If such a movement were to take place where everyone was just a professional at what they wanted to do instead of what their parents pressured them to, I would assume that the next 30 to 40 years could be rather interesting and fun. I am more excited about how music may sound if people really go into this idea. Anyways, I know there are a bunch of members here that are waiting for another wave that will shock the world. Has anyone else noticed this kind of vibe goin around?

Well, the 60s didn't last too long...it was all about being "intellectual" for maybe the first five minutes, then turned into a big party. Just a means to an end of getting high.

there is a revilution, but people get socaught up in these drugs and he revelationjs that they kinda lose the mesage

You don't need a million people to start a world-changing revolution.

Several individuals in the past have made breakthroughs that led to major changes in the way we live.

Just do what you think is best. Talk to people about psychedelics if you believe they would be open to them and could benefit from them.

Nope infact I see it going the other way around, we are a dying breed that must spread...You see it everyday there are 5 year olds girls walking around with cell phones to their ear and wearing cloths that make them look like barbie, people like "jocks" that all they do is go to the mall and beat up on dweebs...the thought of using their brain or gaining a higher consciousness is absurd to them....

Because half or more of the population around the world is influenced by what they see, and thats what the government lets them see and drills in to their brain...and that is to listen to THEM, buy there products, and be mindless robots.

Of course I like to use drugs to expand my mind, but mostly I like to do drugs because its fun and a hobbie so I guess I am no better...go figure.

Many drug users seem to have an elitist attitude as well...either they are so badass because they have used large doses of (insert "hardcore" drugs here), or they are more enlightened than the rest of us because they had some intense acid trip, and suddenly realized the meaning of everything...

No matter what group you fall into, interests you pursue, hobbies you have, we all want to believe that we, as individuals are special in some kind of way, or better than others. The jock is bigger, stronger, and tougher. The intellectual is smarter, wiser. The religious person or spiritual/psychedelic user or mentally unstable person has met God, knows the meaning of life, etc. (Interesting how religion, drugs, and insanity all fit together so well...medically speaking, it can be difficult to differentiate between certain ways of thinking that persist within these groups).

Note: This is all just my opinion, don't get offended if my observations disagree with your world view...
