I find that a couple of beers can help with the occasional nausea.

I only said 'a couple' of beers or as an alternative, blend the shrooms up in margaritas to make them more platable. It's a waste to get drunk while shrooming.

A beer or two during the time it takes for you to feel the trip is nice, so you don't feel so anxious, but alcohol seems to numb the effects of shrooms for me, so it's not cool. Also, I get very sick from alcohol, for some reason (I guess I'm really sensitive to it, which is why I don't drink anymore), but never get sick from mushrooms, so that's another reason to avoid it.

wouldnt this contribute to the nausea?

beer is fun on its own or combined with weed...but being drunk and tripping isnt that fun

it takes the mushroom trip down, replacing your sacred much more rare experiance with the common feeling of drunkeness one feels everynight

I stated nothing about getting drunk, I said a couple of beers. Two beers hasn't got me anywhere near being drunk since 7th grade, but it does help with the occasional nausea as well as the anxiety of coming up. Pot inhibits mental clarity, it's too... "fuzzy."

Too much of both together can leave you in a nightmarish stupor, or just a waste-of-shrooms stupor. Try to avoid the sneakier-natured beverages (i.e., wine, mixed drinks, etc.) your first time trying it. Personally, I think it can be a lot of fun, but don't expect a mind-blowing-variety, new-philosophical-outlook trip necessarily.

I ate a dime worth of mushrooms and we drank 2 1/2 cases of bush and I was so fucked up I didn't know if I was drunk or triping . then when the trip went down I felt the alcohol and was drunker that shit . I would ent recommend it to any one . mushrooms by them selfs are much better and maybe some weed .

I think drinking makes the trip a litte more focused, especially if there is a lot of things going on around you...like at a party or something. You can also drink like nothing else. I drank half a liter of whiskey once tripping. When the trip was neer over I felt a lot more drunk than tripping. I woke up without a hangover though :smile:

Alcohol is a diuretic. It extracts water from your body and dehydrates you. I think IMO, it should be fine to drink before you trip but after your sober, to make you thirsty. Because the active chemicals in mushrooms are water soluble the less water you have the longer is should last. Not sure, but I'm guessing that if you drink alcohol during your trip it'll end it a lot quicker because you'll urinate it all out in a matter of a few hours.

There are a lot of conflicting posts here the simple answer is no! but in my experience its not the greatest combination. The reason for this is the mushrooms, for me seem to sow the seed of insanity (give me lots of outreagous ideas)but the alcahol gives me the courage to carry out the mad ideas. This is ok with a group of close friends but not advisable when trying to blend in to social situations so a moderate approach like everything is harmless.

I don't know if i could agree with you guys. I chewed mush and drank twice and both times were my best trips i've ever had. First time i did them i drank first, had a big buzz then i chewed and it was awsome. My friend had a party and i wasn't afraid to talk to anyone there, it actually gave me more to talk about than when i'm just drunk and gave me more humour to my stories. The 2nd time i did it i chewed an 8th then as my trip was coming down i went to the store and got some beer and drank them at a party. Usually when i'm coming down on mushrooms i get depressed because it was a great trip but when i started drinking it didn't bother me at all and my night lasted longer because i did drink.. I recommend it as well as my other friends and for now on, thats what i'll always do!
