hey hey all,

it has been fairly rainy down here the last couple of days so I thought I might go for a little walk in the mountains. . . . Where I happened to stumble across quite a few Pan Subs :smile:

Interested to see what everyone else has been finding this year?

lol, oops typo, (not pans - Psilocybe subaeruginosa) I wish I did find some pans. . . . . would be a bit out of place in canberra though :P

Been looking but no luck. Many other species of Mushrooms everywhere though. Especially in Fadden Pines area...

Went for another hunt today and found around 50 large caps :P
They were growing on the walking track, absolutely stunning.

I think all us Canberra trippers should band together and maybe share a couple of secrets on habitat etc, might make the hunting easier for newbies

heres my little tid bit

*I noticed today that the scrub consisted mostly of tea tree and eucalyptus. the ground was fairly damp, my shoes need a good wash and I was walking almost parallel to a small creek, approximately 10 - 15 meters away, be prepared to push through dense undergrowth!*

i'd like to have been so lucky. i've traveled out three times in the last week or so. finding LOTS of species - just not the 'good' ones...

totally new to this caper - but i liked that tip wazzard. been trying to envisage canberra locations under that description...

anyone else got some flora-type information to volunteer?
