what to do with cakes... (pics)

Alright... my cakes have been in my terrarium (the one on the top) for about a week and a half, almost 2 weeks. I see no change in them from the day i put them in.





I am also doin casings in the bottom terrarium and they are doing just fine. many pins and some 2 inch zoomers in the sea of shrooms cup, so i don't know what the hell is going on.

Can i case the cakes now or is it too late? i don't know what i should do and am damn sick of waiting for those cakes.

It all depends on how long you have been waiting.. but I'm quite sure you are just being impatient! Pins will show in 4-16 days.. if you haven't been waiting that long, wait longer!

Are all of the conditions favorable for cakes? If you don't know what conditions must be met check the faq.

On the lower right cake in the picture....is that uncolonized substrate on the upper right corner of the cake? or is it a bit of contamination? It seems a little darker than the rest of the cake. Kinda hard to tell from the picture but it definately sticks out.

Its probably water damage (mycellum piss)

I get that on all my cakes everyone does.

Just be patient and fan and mist keep that rh at 100%

Smoke alot bud if you have to I find that helps to keep my patience at rest=)

yea i gotta agree wit jericho, that cake looks a tad green there dude (that one lil spot) And if tht is contam, couldnt it affect the rest of the cakes as well??

I dont think myc piss looks like that though...It has more of a yellow tinge around the myc...that definitely stands out.

Hey r those 1/4 pint jarz u using..? cus i use 1/2 pint ones and they look taller.
What type of casing material did u use? I made my upper casing layer a bit too thick (3/4")>>>my mistake<< guess that'll make the myc poke out a lil later huh/? =[

doesn't look like you got enough humidity cause the cakes would be a fit fluffy

YO!!! these mofos started some pinning up in here.

yeah, on that lower right cake it was lookin a little weird so i took an exacto knife, sterilized it and chopped that shit off. everything aight now.

I'm using 1/2 pint ball jars, but they're the wide mouth ones... so they're a little shorter than the regular ones.
the casing i used was actually bought at wally world... you can buy damn near anything at that place. It's Shultz brand, seed starter and potting mix plus. Its got about half and half vermiculite/peat and has some lime for the pH. I got some green mold on one of my casings so i made sure to sterilize it next time. I just cut that off and sprayed it good with disinfectant. it looks ok now.
