Any suggestions what to do with my cake ? [pic]

Hello once more to all of you.

This is my cake. Thanx Antoine for lending me your digicam



It is like that - not dead but not alive - more than a week. It went like that because i put it in the terrarium and it was hit by the wiiiiiind Although the shroom transformed to a flower lol, the cake didnt transformed at all; like time never passed, with only one exception. Its bluish all over, which is absolutely normal after what happened.

Well what do you think i should do?

a) Moe's tek (i dont have manure though, we ate the last cow yesterday)
b) wait and see when worms will come up
c) send it outside the window
d) throw it in a container with water and fridge it for 24 hours as a punishment
e) ... (your idea)

e) = Dunk it for 12 hours, then put in a container with perlite at the bottom. Don?t fan too much.

Well Anno, i did what u said... and voila!

3 days after, pins showed up. after the dunking i put the cake inside a coke bottle with some layer of wet vermiculite on bottom [only thing i had]. and the cake pinned again!

but along with the pins, something else appeared also. i suppose it was cobweb mold, long white hairs [not grey] which didnt look cool to me. so i made a slight bath with h2o2, trying not to wet the pins but all the other area with the hairs. i suppose that my fridge had a lot of attackers in there. anyway.

the point is that my cake is healthy again and pins are growing with great speed! thanx once more. i will try grab a photo tomorrow morning...

You should dunk it in water for 12 - 24 hours. You will deffinately be impressed witht he results.

Thanx Bluhoney!

Indeed this cake shows that even if wrong things happen, the mycelium is a strong living organism and with a little help it can actually fruit healthy shroomies.

This cake had a lot of problems:

a) it was shocked by the heatwave a month ago that also hit Athens >42 C
but guess what, it recovered under the air-condition
b) then it fruited but the constant high speed of air inside my experimental terrarium made it blue and two shroomies there just died. then the dunking procedure and it survived well, with many pins.
c) cobweb mold appeared and a shower with H2O2 saved the cake once more. Now temp and humidity are as supposed to be and the cake is fruiting i think well enough for what had passed through...

well i have to leave today for an island, to rest a little and my bro will take care of those beauties, so i wont be able to send any more pics... perhaps when i will come back, i will take a snap of those dried...
