Is smoking from a bong truly "healthier" for your lungs than smoking from a pipe??

I just got into a discussion with some friends. Some say bongs are healthier to smoke weed from, some say it really makes no difference.

Has there been a true consensus on this yet??

The smoke from bong sure contains less tar than the regular pipe smoke.

If you smoke a pipe slowly, or what I consider the 'correct' way, then there is only going to be a minor difference. But ya, a bong's going to be a little cleaner.

What I would be worrying about the most is sharing with others, because man, I used to get sick all the time during my 'pass the bong around' years. Now I just carry around my trusty portable pipe, which I keep to myself.

It's actually less efficient/healthy than unfiltered smoke, because the water filters out proportionately more THC than tar. A joint or regular pipe will have a higher THC:tar ratio than a water pipe.

I use a water pipe anyway though, for the cooling and comfort of it.

It seems to me that every time I smoke from a bong I tend to get way more higher that if smoked from regular pipe. But maybe it's because bong hits can be numerous times huger.

Ya plenty of people willing to argue both sides. But all it comes down to is a minor difference for better or worse. A matter of preference, and convenience.

There are two sides to this argument.

Some say the water filters out tar and 'purifies' the smoke. It also cools the heated smoke.

Others say this doesn't matter because smoking from a bong allows the smoke to penetrate more deeply into the lungs.

I don't think there is a definite answer. I just know that if I smoke the bong to much I get a horrible bronchitis like cough, which leads me to believe it is worse for you.

I've used water pipes religiously for years, I normally don't smoke out of anything else. When I do smoke out of pipes or joints, I've never noticed a "less" high" or "more high" feeling unless of course quantity and quality are factors. All I know is I get some very nice smooth rips from my bong, it stinks less, tastes better, and I believe it's better for you than smoking out of something not water filtered. I think claims that say water filtration also filters THC are bullshit, I'd like to be proven wrong though. The more you know..

THC is in the tar that the water traps. If you were to evaporate some skanky bongwater, you'd most likely get high off what was left.

I suppose it technically does reduce the THC, but that seems like a retardedly small amount to be concerned about.

Its not dangerous because it gets into the blood quicker, its dangerous because smoke is an unnatural irritant and is carcinogenic.

I'm not following you. THC isn't "smoke". I don't think anyone is talking about injecting bong hits into their vain.
