i was just doing some reminiscing from back in like 7th grade when my friends and i were always smokin' out of those homemade soda can pipes....tasty...lol  :tongue:

yep. cans, bamboo, 2 x 4s with 2 holes drilled, hollowed-out sticks, toilet paper tubes, foil wrapped around a pencil and bent at an angle, apples, potatoes. thank god i can just walk into a head shop and buy what i want now.

oh yeah.. i completely forgot about shop class.... we made some mean little scrap wood pipes in there.... the teacher would always catch us make us stay after school and clean up the shop room

Oh yes... Bamboo... I made a killer bamboo bong when I was in the 10th grade. It was 12" tall and 4 inches diameter. I felled a large bamboo cane from a vacant lot and went to work. I left the bottom seggment intact, and even filed a depression on top to snugly fit the outer part of one's lips. Used a copper,(ugh!), L-shaped plumbing piece for the bowl and copper tubing running from that to the bottom of the bong. I spent 5 hours making the fucker. It tasted great for about 3 weeks. Then mildew set into the bamboo. I was all, "Boo Hoo!"

I made a bong out of one of these once:



It's a piza sauce warmer from a restaraunt I worked at. You could put ice and beer in the top, and it would chill the smoking chamber. I had a bowl on it that was about an inch and a half wide.

That motherfucker hit SMOOOOOTHE ! ! !!

some kids in my town have a bowl made out of one of those huge silver old-fashioned fire extinguishers... you could fit like an eigth in the bowl piece and they wanted to rig it so the pressure gauge went up when smoke entered it.

This sweet piece of makeshift machinery took me through a good part of Grade 10. Many fond memories toking it.

I've had glassware since day 1, or rather my brother has, as he's the stoner in the family. I've made many pipes anyway, but not really ghetto- some of the coolest ones were ornate blacklight-reactive fimo bubblers (always with bought glass bowls though, Fimo is a plastic- it will burn and make toxic fumes.)
Or carve a bowl from a rock.

I'd like to make real ceramic pipes and sell them but don't have a kiln. But I want a kiln anyway dammit- soooo maybe someday.

I've made a bong/pipe out of everything you can imagine. My specialty though is tinfoil, I spent like a year smoking out of tin foil pipes every day.
This may not look like much, but it was one of my masterpeices. It could stand up on its own, had a party sized bowl, screen, was very solid, and was designed to be smokeless (could cover the bowl with my fist without getting burnt). Ahh, the good ole days.

i think the most "ghetto" pipe i ever made was this one where i turned a plastic flower vase into a bong. It had one of those ratchet things as the bowl with rubberbands around it so you wouldnt burn yourself when pulling the slide out. The ghetto thing about it was that i used chewed gum that i hardend with a lighter as the seal around the stem. it was a water bong so it got pretty disgusting sometimes. I've made plently of 2-liter bongs with hot glue and stuff like that, but the gum seal on the vase bong definetly makes it the most ghetto.
