So I just applied at a Christian homeless shelter

I have a lot of time that I waste everyday when I am not studying for my LSAT's. I am being provided for until I take my test, so I have no real reason to get a paying job right now. I figured I would apply so I could help some other people and, at the same time, build up qualifications for my law school applications.

The only problem is that there was a blank asking being which church I attend, who the pastor is, and how long I've been attending. I'm not a Christian, so I put a line through each of those blanks. Do you guys think they would turn down a helping hand because I am not a Christian?

Yea, you might not know how to help people if you aren't Christian. :wink:

I seriously doubt that will be an issue, they always like people who offer to work in such places.

I hope it won't be an issue. The shelter is like 2 blocks from my apartment, so I would be able to help out quite frequently. It would be almost insane to turn me down.

They shouldn't, but they may kill you if you don'[t believe in their god.

A helping hand is always appreciated, just try not to come in the church wearing upside down crosses over your neck and carry the tibetan book of the dead around with you everywhere.

I'm not hostile to religion or anything. It's just not for me.

I really don't feel like lying, though. If they won't accept my free work because I'm not a Christian, I'm sure I can find other places to volunteer at. It's just convenient for me because of its location.

Are these people Evangelical Christians?

If so be prepared for pushiness and nosiness. I grew up around these people, believe me I know.

Nah dude, I doubt it- even if you haven't attended, I don't think it really matters. Why turn down someone who wants to help- it'll just make him 'look bad'
