They say it was shot on the same location as the Lion King. Sure looks like the same place that Scar knocked Mufasa into the stampede. Must be Africa.

seriously though - uninformed people are not just a nuisance, they are a bad image for drug users, they spread lies among their peers, and they stand by all of this out of ignorance. i don't support being a pretentious ass, but the least we can do is let everyone know that mushrooms don't make your brain bleed, they are no more poisonous than a cigarette (quite a bit less so, actually), and that for fucks sake, mushrooms don't grow in water! that one should be common sense.

Yes, I agree. But there will never be a shortage of idiots. Trying to convince them that they are idiots is a fulltime job that I'm not will to work. esp, if it's on a one to one basis or on the internet.. Whats the use? Maybe if some false info is printed in a newspaper, I could see writing the editor.. but sure as hell not over whether "hydro shrooms" exist. Sounds like the poster of this thread wants to get into a fist fight with a 15 year old over whether or not hydro shrooms exist. Who the fuck cares?

It's not just fifteen year olds.

I've met a few people that are revered among some 18-22 year olds as trust-worthy sources of dosing/chemical information who thought hydro shrooms existed.

now, I generally don't go out of my way to correct drug users (because they'll forget), but when that happens, I try to say something. Nothing mean, just "are you sure you mean hydroponic?" .. you know, just to make them remember that they're actually speaking - and that they have no idea what they're talking about.

I do agree with you, it's pretty useless. Not really time consuming either though, so why not?

And actually, recently, a magazine here printed a 3 page article on how to hunt psiliocybin mushrooms (illegally - in Oregon). In the article the "guide" was a community college drop out who proclaimed he did not understand the real differences between the kinds of mushrooms, but he did know how to spot the good ones.

Not safe, and it was dumb of the paper to print. Lots of people wrote to the editor.

you're mistaking my inner thoughts for what you think is my outward behavior. when people talk about hydro shrooms...i calmly tell them there is no such thing...and they refuse to believe it and act like i'm the fool...and usually i'm around people who don't know either way...it really sucks when it's the fucker trying to sell them cuz then who ever i'm with that wants to buy them gets mad at me for telling the dude there is no such thing.

Wow, this reminds me of people who used to respond "shrooms? yeah they give you food poisoning and (OR) deprive your brain of oxygen, that's why you trip! then I explain to them about tryptamines and serotonin and well they lost me at that point, I usually convince most people that they are wrong about mushrooms, lsd, mdma, and that they have heard myths and disinformation, but lets not blame them COMPLETELY for not doing their own research, there are plenty of folks spreading this acting as if they know it, and we do learn a good amount from people when they are honest and passing it on correctly, drugs happen to be an area riddled with uncertainty and false information

Most of my friends don't know dick about drugs, but neither did I until I took the time to read about them. What do you expect from people that think high times is a good source for drug information. I try to educate people, though it usually just ends up pissing me off, but what can you do. It isn't just mushrooms either, its all drugs.
